Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate with Rihanna. On the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox performed on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas, on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. On November 9 she released two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One and Pedigree. They then teamed up on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February 2019 for her debut album the same name. The song was followed by an accompanying music video that debuted on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within one week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
